Mike Lang, PE, BCxP, BEMP, CEM

Mike joined New Ridge Engineering as the Director of Commissioning in August of 2026. He is a commissioning and building performance leader with 26 years of experience guiding buildings through design, construction, operation, energy modeling, performance contracting, commissioning, and retro-commissioning. He graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mike brings to New Ridge Engineering a practical understanding of how buildings are designed, delivered, operated, and optimized to meet owner requirements, energy performance goals, and occupant needs.

Mike has built and led commissioning operations from the ground up, including launching his own commissioning business and establishing a commissioning division within a consulting firm. In those roles, he supported general contractors and served as a third-party commissioning agent for clients across healthcare, higher education, industrial, and commercial office markets.

As the director of commissioning, Mike is committed to translating the owner’s project requirements into measurable building performance. He works with contractors, engineers, and project teams to verify system functionality, support energy goals, protect the owner’s investment, and improve the end-user experience.
