Joel Wong

Joel is an Electrical Design Engineer for New Ridge Engineering. He graduated from Florida International University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Joel’s career is focused on electrical design in building construction, including performing analysis, design, and documentation of power, emergency power systems, lighting, and related systems.

Joel’s experience includes coordinating with specialists for fire alarms, technology, and lighting design as required by the project scope. He also works closely with architects, clients, and other engineers to meet equipment power needs and sizing electrical distribution.

His day-to-day responsibilities include performing electrical design calculations for electrical loads, voltage drops, and panel schedules; developing electrical system one-line diagrams; assisting in editing specifications to reflect project requirements; and performing field investigations, punch lists, and responses to RFIs and submittals for projects.
