Emily Prothe, EIT

Emily is a Project Manager & Electrical Design Engineer for New Ridge Engineering. She graduated from Kansas State University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering. Emily’s career is focused on designing power distribution and lighting systems for commercial and industrial buildings. She applies her knowledge of modeling in Revit to provide clean and organized drawing packages.

Emily’s electrical design experience includes healthcare facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, industrial manufacturing and warehouse buildings, retail stores, and restaurants. These projects have included both new and existing buildings. In addition to producing electrical drawing packages, Emily has conducted lighting, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations.

Emily’s degree in architectural engineering provides her with a background in HVAC and plumbing design, as well as electrical design. Her understanding of mechanical systems enhances the coordination of electrical components with equipment in the project. She loves the problem-solving nature of designing buildings and is excited to produce more solutions as her career progresses.

Emily has presented as a subject matter expert on the design of MEP systems for USP compounding pharmacies to the Virginia Society of Healthcare Engineers.
