The design of this project included upgrading a previous brick-and-mortar banking establishment to a new Urgent Care and Imaging Center for Chesapeake Health Care. The overall project included approximately 2000 square feet of expansion and 15,000 square feet of renovation to accommodate multiple imaging modalities, including MRI, CT, X-Ray, and ultrasound, as well as an urgent care clinic for the community.
Electrical Design |
The electrical design included the design of an upgraded service size, new switchgear, and associated panels. The power requirements of the imaging vendor's equipment were closely coordinated with those of the various vendors on the project.
Plumbing Design |
The plumbing design included coordination of new water and sanitary service for the new occupancy, as well as design of revised storm drainage systems and heating water recirculation equipment. A pre-action sprinkler system was designed for the MRI and equipment spaces. Natural gas water heaters were installed.
Mechanical Design |
Mechanical design included new and upgraded rooftop units to accommodate the increased load density of the new tenant, as well as the design of a cooling and quench system for the MRI machine. A humidifier was installed to maintain the MRI equipment manufacturer's ambient air requirements. New exhaust fans were installed to meet the increased restroom and janitorial capacity, and to provide helium venting in case of a leak in the MRI.
