This project involved the renovation of an existing condominium building's main lobby and pool area. The result was an enhanced pool area with a slide and waterfalls, as well as an outdoor covered grotto with ventilation and lighting. New Ridge Engineering designed a retrofit of existing systems serving the pool area, as well as steam generation for the new spa area.

Electrical Design |

The electrical design included a selection of light fixtures in a natatorium to have both high aesthetic quality and provide the additional insulation required for natatorium use. Light fixtures throughout the entire project were carefully coordinated with existing conditions, mechanical systems, and other aspects to provide both a modern look and even light levels.

The electrical service was constructed about forty years before the project and was constructed within its space constraints. Part of the project scope was the addition of new electric vehicle chargers, which were tightly coordinated with existing space constraints. A new distribution panel was added to provide overcurrent protection for the vehicle chargers while maintaining the existing service board in its existing location.

Plumbing Design |

Plumbing design included the design of pool support systems and specialty spa systems. This included titanium heat exchangers, specialty pumps, and deck drainage systems incorporated into the architectural design. A deluge luxury show, as well as an exterior natural gas fire pit, was included in this renovation.

Mechanical Design |

Mechanical design included verifying the moisture removal rate required for the pool air handling systems for the new work and designing new systems to support the grotto and fitness area. Systems were reworked to accommodate new structural and architectural features. New snow melt systems for the patio area and the drive lane were designed.
