Laurence Jones
Laurence is a principal and co-founder of New Ridge Engineering. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Throughout his career, Laurence has designed and modeled complex power distribution systems and lighting control systems. He has engineered emergency power systems with generators and uninterruptible power supplies.
Laurence’s primary experience has focused on providing quality solutions for various healthcare, government, commercial, hospitality, and industrial clients. These projects include small single-room replacements of medical imaging modalities, full-service kitchens and serveries, hybrid operating rooms, office buildings, outpatient surgical centers, emergency power system upgrades, an EMP-resistant warehouse facility, and a multi-story high-rise outpatient facility. In addition to building design, Laurence has produced over-current protective device coordination and arc flash studies as part of larger electrical system studies.
Laurence serves on the board of directors for the Illuminating Engineers Society, Richmond section. In his spare time, he enjoys brewing beer, flying planes, playing the piano, and chasing hot air balloons.
